Network Configuration and Maintenance Services
Most businesses are dependent on their computer network to operate efficiently. The network could have been built up over the years or could be an installation for a new office. In many small businesses, the in house IT support may have had little to do with the original installation. We offer network configuration, planning, implementation and maintenance services.
Network Configuration
Is your existing network letting you down? Most business networks have a combination of wired and wireless connectivity that interacts with the public Internet, local printers, local servers and remote users. Often there is a need for a VPN to allow remote access to employees through the internet and sometimes it is important to have a wireless channel that allows guests and employees to have internet service without gaining access to the company network. Let us help you get the most out of your network.
Server Configuration
All to often servers are installed with basic configurations and never revisited. As the company usage changes over time the servers are running at less than optimal levels. We have experience with Linux (unix) and MS servers and can examine your network flow in order to optimize the settings for you current situation.
Remote Desktop Configurations
We have extensive experience with both Citrix and VMware remote desktop technologies. Most clients run a combination of thin clients, desktops, laptops (including Apple), smart phones (including tablets) and remote users. With all these new and varied “client” hardware we find that the default server configuration is far from optimal. Let us analyze your server Farm and optimize it for the way you run your business.
Standard Domain Servers
Many companies run their own internal Domain networks. Years ago Active Directory and Group Policy was all the rage, but it was designed to create policies that where very complex and with the newer operating systems simply unnecessary. We have found that many companies will have dozens of group policies that can be replaced with just a hand full, this not only reduces the complexity of the network but also eliminates inconsistencies and slowness across the client network. If you have things that work on some machines but not others or you have glitches in some departments but no system wide — We can help.
Third Party Servers
We have worked with a number of outside servers / appliances that you may have running on your network. Dealing with multiple service vendors during a network outage can be a bit of a shell game — the Blackberry vendor will blame it on the network, the network guy will blame it on the Domain server and the Microsoft guy will blame it on the Citrix farm. We have experience with Blackberry servers, MS Exchange servers, both hardware and software firewall appliances, VPN Appliances, secure trading network gateways (ATM) and Cisco routers.
